Signing News – Reis Peggie (Alloa Athletic)

Derek Ure tonight has added 20 yr old midfielder Reis Peggie to his squad for the 2019/20 season.

Reis will be no stranger to the Falkirk Stadium having spent a number of season’s at Falkirk in the youth and under 20s before moving to Alloa Athletic last season. He previously also had a spell in Celtic’s youth set up.

The former Scotland Under 17 International has played directly against Shire gaffer Derek Ure on a couple of previous occasions as a player and greatly impressed Derek so that when the opportunity came along he was keen to have Reis onboard.

Reis joins new faces Sean Brown, Nickly Low, Eddie Malone, Martin Orr, Bobby Barr and Jamie Dishington at the Shire for next season.

Our Charity Sponsor for 2019/20 – Safe Drive Stay Alive

As has been the case for a number of years now the Shire has donated some sponsorship space on playing kit to local charities and causes close to our clubs heart.

We again this year will carry Safe Drive Stay Alive logo on our shorts. This fantastic project saves young lives in our community.

Safe Drive Stay Alive is a Community Safety Partnership project to further educate young drivers in Scotland. It’s full-on, hard-hitting, realistic and highly emotive production which aims to reduce the number of casualties amongst young people.

In 2007, in a bid to cut the number of incidents, injuries and deaths on the area’s roads, the fire and rescue and police services teamed-up as the Central Scotland Road Safety Partnership, launching the Safe Drive Stay Alive initiative.

This annual event is open to the public and delivers thought-provoking messages to young drivers by demonstrating in realistic terms the potentially lethal consequences should they fail to understand and accept their responsibilities when either as a passenger or getting behind the wheel of a car.

Alan Faulds, our Shire Kitman, is chairperson for this charity and we all wish Alan and his team all the best for this years events.
