East Stirlingshire FC – Club Update

Right now, football is of little importance, where we finish in a league or cup doesn’t matter, how will we finish or start the season is irrelevant.

The message is Black and White – Stay at home, it will save lives.

What does matter is people and their health and wellbeing so every decision that is made to support keeping people alive is the correct decision no matter what.

We as a club are very aware that we have players and staff who currently like us all have no idea when they will next kick a ball, treat an injury or wash a shirt and that they all have family and loved ones to look after and with this in mind the Board of Directors will ensure that all players and staff contracts are honoured in full during this uncertain time and everyone will be paid 100% salary.

This will without doubt take our club to the absolute limit financially and we will need to seek access to government support to survive but ensuring that those employed don’t need to worry at this time is the most important thing right now.

We have players and staff who are working right on the front line for the NHS and Social Care organisations and we also just want to say thank you to them for all that they are doing.

The Shire have always been known as a family club and family is all that matters.

There will be a 100 Club cash draw this Sunday night and there will also be some other ways to support the club if you wish announced later in the week.

To Players, Supporters, Committee members across all leagues good wishes and stay well.
