Shire beat the league leaders BSC Glasgow after playing most of the 2nd half with 10 men.
A large travelling Shire support, of at least 80 fans, had come through the Indrodrill Stadium in Alloa to cheer on the Shirey Pirey.
There was not much to report from opening 45 minutes a player from each side booked, Bolo for the Shire and Donnelly for BSC in 2 separate incidents.
There was only one chance of note when a Shire free kick from 22 yards went under the wall into the keepers hands.
BSC came out with more determination in the 2nd half and from a corner Bolo handled the ball giving Martin Grehan the chance to score from the spot in the 47th minute but Jamie Barclay saved the spot kick and held on to the ball.
It looked as thought the Shire’s chance had gone on 52 minutes when Connor Greene was shown a red card for 2 yellows within a minute, the first one a definite yellow and it appeared that the 2nd one was doubtful. One minute later Jack Smith struck the post for BSC but the Shire cleared the ball.
On 65 minutes Jamie McCormack breaking down the right hand side for the Shire put in a low cross across the 6 yard box but there was no takers.
BSC centre Jack Smith was then booked for diving in the Shire penalty box.
BSC then had a goal disallowed for offside on 74 minutes.
Shire made a change to their teamline up when Liam Allison replaced Andy Rodgers in the 84th minute.
With 4 minutes remaining the BSC manager was sent to the stand following a booking for a BSC player. He having previously been given a warning at same time as the Shire gaffer had regarding their conduct.
On 88 minutes Paul Sludden tried to get away from the home defence but was fouled by Ciaran Donnelly who was shown a second yellow followed by the inevitable red card.
The foul was just outside the 18 yard line and from the resulting free-kick captain Del Ure drove the ball low into the far corner. This put the Shire fans and team in dreamland so much so that Andy Grant, who was unused sub through injury, ran on the pitch to celebrate with the team and was booked.
With the game moving into injury time the Shire brought on Simon White for Paul Sludden and shortly afterwards the referee blew for full-time.
Next Saturday we are home to East Kilbride who will be out for revenge following our 5-0 win at their place earlier in the year.
